Sunflower “Thin Skin” – Listen

Clearly not social distancing, we’ll cut Sunflower some slack because they are outdoors – and that outdoors is in Australia.  So, you know, pretty much Covid free.  To the extent that Sunflower have been able to have a pretty good year including playing festivals.Sunflower are brothers Luke and Sam Woods (drums and bass), Dave Webster (lead guitar) the Brisbane-based, Australian five-piece is the love-child of leading frontwoman, Kahlia Ferguson and singer/songwriter, Lawson Doyle.

Kahlia Ferguson says of ‘Thin Skin‘ that it is about accepting that life is going to deal you difficult cards sometimes, and letting go of anything that doesn’t add value to your life is one way you can beat the darkness. You can be your own worst enemy if you let the difficulties of life tear away at you. We only get one life, might as well learn to love it.”  And if you’re going to love it you may as well do so with a subtle blend of (amongst others) Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell and The Doors.  And now, play on….
