Lily Talmers has released a new single from her forthcoming album ‘It Is Cyclical, Missing You’ to be released January 30th. Raised in Michigan and based in Brooklyn, Talmers is a remarkably prolific songwriter; this will be her fifth album released in as many years.  Talmers’ intimate vocal performance sparkles, wilts, and explodes over a delicate mesh of cello, woodwinds, and bouzouki—an affecting nod to Talmers’ Greek heritage as she explains: “‘I Missed You Today’ is an ode to persistence through the ghosts and griefs of the past. The song digs deep into memories of sorrow, but trudges through the throes of intrusive thoughts to arrive at plateaus of bliss. I wanted to blend the sounds of Americana with my northern Greek heritage, to honor the resilience our unique culture has imbued in me. You’ll hear bouzouki, guitar, and cello acting as one fluid instrument, as woodwinds swell in and out, flooding the moments between each verse with intricate melody.”

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
