Something for the weekend: Briscoe “Saving Grace”

Credit: Justin Crook

Well that’s it from us for another week dear reader. My excitement for the weekend is heading to the Beamish living museum of the north where hopefully I won’t be sentenced to 7 years hard labour for having previously dated other men. We leave you with a track from a duo from Austin who I have long raved about on these hallowed pages and whose new album “Heat of July” we reviewed earlier this week – scoring it a 9 out of 10, our writer commented “the songs here have an easy swing; a polish of skill and touch, but combined with the looseness of a campfire singalong.” It’s such a great record so please do seek it out. ‘Saving Grace’ is the opener and according to the press release “captures the singular experience of loving someone in a way unlike anything you’ve ever known”. The heat of July incidentally feels like a long lost memory – only 7 months of sleet to go before we see the sun again.

Take care everyone, don’t forget Palestine and keep fighting the fascists. See you next week.
