We’re pleased to share the latest single from The Ripples, who are bringing the timeless music over from the island of Mallorca. ‘Never Gonna Be’ features the band’s trademark twanging, jangling guitar riffs and melodies that sound like musical sunshine. This is the sort of music that makes you want to move, smile and sing along.
Directed by Marc Suau and Lara Ríos, the outstanding video was filmed by students from the audiovisual arts school CEF Mallorca; it’s brilliantly shot and edited with a vintage feel and styling. We see five characters with diverse backgrounds in a variety of locations before coming together on the stage. These characters represent the band and the idea that a group of very different people from different contexts and places can blend together and create as one single entity. It’s an artful visual that is really effective, genuinely enhancing the song.
This is the third single from the band’s debut album, which is due for release on 17th October. “One Hell of a Ride” promises to be just that. Partly recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London during their first UK tour, the album leans into The Ripples’ 1960s rock and roll, Laurel Canyon and beatnik influences, full of the energy that the band deliver in their live shows, like those at Ramblin’ Roots Revue and Wood Festival last year. Look out for it and immerse yourself in this timeless song while you’re waiting.
