Jim Keller “Black Dog” – time to hit the road

Jim Keller has a new album – his seventh solo release – called “End Of The World” and ‘Black Dog‘ is of course taken from it.  It’s a funky, somewhat bluesy, tale of a man trying to outrun his depression – but who can outrun themselves “when the black dog’s coming“?

Jim Keller tasted power-pop success in Tommy Tutone, whose ‘867-5309/Jenny’  stormed the charts way back in 1981.  He’s had a varied career since then – including 25 years running Phillip Glass’s publishing company, eventually managing his career outright in addition to working with luminaries such as Tom Waits, Ravi Shankar and Rufus Wainwright.  Jim Keller returned to performing in 2009.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
