A long overdue return from Carla Olson, this time again singing with Tall Poppy Syndrome who are themselves an interesting band including as they do Vince Melouney, Australian guitar legend and member of the (psych-era) Bee Gees; Clem Burke, the renowned drummer of Rock And Roll Hall-Of-Famers Blondie; guitarist Jonathan Lea of the critically-acclaimed Art Pop group The Jigsaw Seen and singer Paul Kopf and bassist Alec Palao of Strangers In A Strange Land. The combination is a very Americana-ish take on Power Pop – two genres with one stone.
Why feature this song right now though – no doubt you’ve already been listening to it on Little Steven Van Zandt “Coolest Song In The World” feature on his “Underground Garage” radio channel. Well, things have moved on and it is now available not only digitally but on vinyl. Yes, solid, physical, vinyl with the grooves and the run in and run out tracks and everything. And in the best traditions of modern vinyl it will be a limited edition and in the even better traditions of modern vinyl it will come packed full of goodies: the single includes Vocal and Instrumental versions of the track and is packaged in a seven-inch jacket that also includes an art card hand-signed by Carla, black paper inner sleeve, credits sheet, sticker and a download card (with link to high resolution 24-bit/96kHz audio files) all in a magical resealable plastic outer sleeve.
There is a vinyl god.
