Here’s the latest single from roots singer-songwriter Sorrel Nation. Ran Jonny Ran is an atmospheric exploration of hard-won truths; it’s beautifully arranged and made all the more impactful by Nation’s emotive vocal delivery. She demonstrates her range, control, and the full power of her melodic, lilting voice in a performance that is simply gorgeous. Elevated by heavenly backing from Theo Holder, Sam Anderson and Hollie Garwood, Nation’s words lead us through an immersive story of heartache and heartbreak. Warm sonic layers add to the song’s rich fullness; Holder plays sonorous cello beneath Anderson’s resonator guitar and Caelia Luniss’s fiddle.
