Joana Serrat joins forces with Israel Nash for UK dates

Fresh from their collaboration on Joanna Serrat’s excellent latest album, ‘Dripping Springs,’ the Spanish and American duo join up again for some forthcoming UK dates.

Spanish singer-songwriter, Serrat, is reaching an increasingly wider audience following the release of her fourth album in five years. Travelling from her home in Vic, Barcelona, to the Texas Hill Country outside Austin, she teamed up with Israel Nash at his Plum Creek Sound studio near the town of Dripping Springs, which proved the inspiration for the album title. For the recording sessions, Nash and Serrat brought together musicians including Joey and Aaron McClellan (Midlake, BNQT, John Grant, Israel Nash), Eric Swanson and  Josh Fleischmann (Israel Nash), Dave Simonett (Trampled By Turtles) and Dennis Love (Futurebirds). Nash not only produced the album but also provided additional guitar and backing vocals, while Ted Young (Grammy award winner for The Rolling Stones) helped out on engineering and mixing duties.

Of Joana Serrat’s latest release, AUK’s own David Cowling said: “This is one of those records that sounds so lush and wonderful that you think that listening to it on repeat would begin to erode its charms. Well, take it from me: repeated listens only serve to reinforce those first impressions. The only sensible thing to do is to press play and cycle through the whole thing again. It’s a joyous experience.”

Joana Serrat will be opening for Israel Nash throughout his UK tour later this month.
