Commenting on all the historical references that pepper ‘Claiborne Avenue‘ Doctor Lo commented “you have this combination in New Orleans culture of outward festivity but on a deeper level great pain, and you start to see how the life-affirming partying and parades are on some level a way of coping and fighting back against the pain, and that dynamic is very deep, and “Claiborne Avenue” is an attempt to explore, so to speak, the pandemic-period iteration of it.”
