Some singers are their own guarantee of excellence – so I really shouldn’t need to try and persuade anyone to listen to ‘Prodigal Daughter‘. It’s Aoife O’Donovan, and it’s beautifully played and sung and the lyrics are cut-you-to-the-quick poignant. The single is lifted from O’Donovan’s upcoming album, ‘Age Of Apathy‘, due on January 21, 2022. So now you know it all and its officially time to hit play.
It’s also co-written by Tim O’Brien, who plays mandolin on it, and has Allison Russell on harmony vocals. A really beautiful track.
