Between Saturday October 28th and Saturday November 18th this brand new festival is putting on Foy Vance, Rhiannon Giddens, CC Smugglers, Show of Hands, Chuck Prophet, The Worry Dolls, Gretchen Peters, The Hot Club of Cowtown and many more in over thirty concerts in venues including the Union Chapel, St Pancras Old Church, the Borderline and the Slaughtered Lamb.
It’s a hugely impressive line-up of some of the best music out there. Apart from those named above Americana UK’s highlights include the extraordinary creations of Wesley Stace (above), who of course once plyed his trade as John Wesley Harding, Mark Eitzel and his uniquely sardonic outlook, part celebration, part despair, teaming up with recent collaborator Bernard Butler, the Mercury Prize-nominated Kathryn Williams and rising folk star Blair Dunlop.
