From his new album, Play One More -The Songs Of Ian and Sylvia, out now, comes this fine cover of their classic, originally released in 1969 on the Great Speckled Bird album.
From his new album Live/Solo comes this great high energy song from fiddler extraordinaire Chris Murphy.
Taken from their album The Long Unbroken Line, Liverpool’s Good Intentions, this is a lovely melancholic piece.
The autobiographical new single from Holly Spears, a nice piece of upfront contemporary country.
The, ahem, brilliant new single from the inimitable Danny & his Champs, taken from the new album Brilliant Light due out on June 30th.
A live version of the the title track of the latest album (out on July 28th) from Lyndon Morgans superlative outfit Songdog. One of my favourite bands ever.
From their new album, The Machine That Made Us, out now comes this hypnotic and slightly eerie song that sits snugly in the same bed as Mercury Rev and the Flaming Lips. Lovely.
Currently on tour in the UK – check out dates here: https://www.thedanberrys.com/ husband and wife duo The Danberrys do a fine line in melding folk, old-time, country and more than a little soul.
This is the new single from Sam & Tyler, from their eponymous first album together, out in June. Sam’s solo debut Ain’t We Brothers deservedly made many Best Of lists in 2015 and this is just as good and not a little timely.
Something a little different here but it’s truly outstanding. The video is by Yuliya Tsukerman, the music by Austin band Man, Woman, Friend, Computer. The marionette animation is astonishing and very moving and the music fits it perfectly. Give it a watch.
