amanda-rheaumeCanadian singer-songwriter Amanda Rheaume has announced January-February UK tour in support of her new album Holding Patterns, produced by Ottawa singer-songwriter Jim Bryson, which features tracks such as  ‘The Day the Mountain Fell’, a true story Amanda’s grandfather told her about a second cousin in the 1950s who became known in media reports as a “miracle child”. Carly Dow announces UK tour dates

Tom Petty & Heartbreakers announce 2017 UK date

tom-pettyAlthough you will still have to wait for 2 seasons to pass.  News from Uncut who report: “Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers have announced their only European date of 2017. They will play Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park on Sunday July 9, as part of the band’s 40th anniversary. This will be Petty’s first UK date since two nights at the Royal Albert Hall in June 2012. They will be supported by Stevie Nicks; a long-standing friend of the band and occasional collaborator. “In 1976, I’d been in Fleetwood Mac for about a year when I heard Tom Petty’s debut,” Nicks told Rolling Stone in 2010. “I became such a fan that if I hadn’t been in a band myself, I would have joined that one.” They will also be joined on the bill by The Lumineers.  Continue reading “Tom Petty & Heartbreakers announce 2017 UK date”

I wonder how she feels about me?” So ends the chorus of the Old 97’s’ “Good With God,” the lead single from the band’s 11th album, Graveyard Whistling. Sturgill Simpson and Avett Brothers nominated for Grammys

sturgill-simpsonRolling Stone Country reports: “Maren Morris, Sturgill Simpson and Kelsea Ballerini each scored an all-genre nomination when the categories for the 59th Grammy Awards were revealed this morning. Simpson’s latest record A Sailor’s Guide to Earth is nominated in Album of the Year, opposite efforts from Beyoncé, Drake, Justin Bieber and Adele, while Morris and Ballerini represent country music in the Best New Artist category. Bear’s Den release new song ahead of Christmas charity bash – Listen

bears-denBear’s Den have today released a surprise new song in advance of their special Christmas charity show next week. The song, ‘Berlin’, was written during sessions for the band’s Top 10 album, ‘Red Earth & Pouring Rain’, and was recorded last month when the band had a short break in a hectic year of touring.  Andrew Davie, he of the Den, says, “We’re so excited to be sharing “Berlin” with the world. It’s a song we started writing a year ago and finished writing over the last few days of our last tour. Carter Sampson Announces UK Dates

Carter Sampson, aka the ‘Queen Of Oklahoma’, has announced a short run of UK shows in January to tie in with her showcase at the Americana Music Association UK conference on Feb 1st. Old Crow Medicine Show “best of” collection will include new material

ocmsRolling Stone Country reports: “It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 12 years since Old Crow Medicine Show released their studio debut O.C.M.S., having spent several years busking and playing festivals before signing a record deal in the early 2000s. Ryan Adams releases first track from new album – Listen

Rolling Stone reports: “Ryan Adams released the first single, a power ballad called “Do You Still Love Me,” from his forthcoming new album Prisoner, set to arrive February 17th. Jim Lauderdale: new album and UK tour dates, February
