Bay Bryan “Far Away” – heading out in new directions

Latest single from Bay Bryan, who hails from Colorado but is now domiciled in Manchester, ‘Far Away’ is taken from their new album ‘The Meadow‘ which will be released in 2023.  It is a dreamy slice of alt-folk, and finds Bay Bryan negotiating the twists and turns of a changing life.  There’s some sadness as Bryan acknowledges doubts “I’m a little uncertain And a little afraid”  but ultimately it is a song of hope for the future “I’m finally going Out / Beyond where I’ve kept confined / Out beyond this cage of mine.”  This journey may be a metaphorical and philosophical one more than an actual upheaval from one place to another, as the song ends on the question “who do we think we are?

As well as Bay Bryan ‘Far Away‘ features Fraser Langton on clarinet,  Sam Vicary on bass, and Pete Mitchell on percussion),with Bay providing guitar/piano/synths.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
