Become an AUK supporter and help UK musicians during the current crisis

Hello dear readers. We are in unprecedented times which are worrying for everyone, but particularly for those who make a living from their music who are facing specific challenges at the moment. With essentially the whole world in lockdown for the foreseeable future, musicians who often survive on the basis of their live earnings face a  perilously uncertain time ahead, both in terms of finances and more broadly their health and wellbeing.

In the light of this, we’ve decided that from today all proceeds from our Americana UK supporters scheme will go to the charity Help: Musicians UK which provides health and welfare support for musicians based in the UK. If you’re not already a supporter, I’m asking you today to consider becoming one – for £2 a month you’ll receive a specially curated Spotify playlist every month of the best new americana we’ve heard, and be entered into a prize draw to win music related goodies such as CDs or gig tickets (obviously not so many of them right now).

When the scheme reverts to helping to fund Americana UK (when venues are open and touring starts again) we’ll let you know. If you are able to help, you can sign up here, and you can cancel with one click at any time. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

  1. Thank you for doing this Mark. I think you know, I do some freelance work for Help Musicians and they are an incredible organisation who make a massive difference with their money. I visit musicians who they support and I’ve seen time and again what a massive lifesaver Help Musicians are.

    • Thanks for this Matt, I learnt about them through yourself and through the AMAUK conferences. Fantastic organisation and a genuine lifeline for some people.
