Bonny Light Horseman “Summer Dream” – and in a dream I wandered far

We love Bonny Light Horseman.  We’d love them if they’d called themselves Gallant Dragoon, or Heroic Hussar or even Truculent Turcapole.  A rose by any other name would still make blissfully transcendent music.  Which is to say that we are overjoyed to share with you the second single from the upcoming, to be released in October, album ‘Rolling Golden Holy‘.

Oh,‘Summer Dream’ is lush – or as Anaïs Mitchell puts it “I think of ‘Summer Dream’ as the ultimate example of the ‘yes, and’ process we got into for this record.  There was something we could all feel about this ‘ghost of a summer’s past,’ so the scene is true to each of us but somehow remains mysterious – a phantom. We could have sung that wordless outro for an hour, and in the rough track we basically did. We wanted it to ‘spill all over’ like a summer night.

And we want to go on record that we will be ecstatic to share that full version whenever Bonny Light Horseman want to share it.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
