Bon Iver Cancel European Tour

Bad news for the first Thursday morning of 2017 sorry.  Don’t worry, Trump’s inauguration will be here before long to brighten things up.  Pitchfork report: “Bon Iver have canceled their upcoming European tour behind 22, A Million. Justin Vernon’s planned January 14 appearance on the Minnesota Public Radio program “A Prairie Home Companion” has also been canceled. In a note on the band’s Twitter, they write they have canceled “for personal reasons.” Bon Iver will refund all tickets, and have no plans to reschedule tour dates. Read the full note below. News: Aaron Watson heads to the UK

Aaron Watson, the maker of Country Music history is coming to the UK for a string of dates in January.  With the release of ‘The Underdog’ in February 2015, Watson was the first ever independent artist to debut an album at #1 on the Billboard Country Chart. Since the release, he has taken his tour around the world performing sold out headline shows from Boise to Boston; San Diego to Chicago; and across the pond in Italy, France, Sweden, and the UK. Tift Merritt – new album, new tour

The truly wonderful Tift Merritt returns in 2017 with a new album – Stitch of the World – and glories of glories she’s bringing it to the UK for a short tour.  Kicking off with an admirably intimate gig at The Lexington (and unbelievably there are tickets still available) at the end of January, there’s then a series of larger halls across the country including appearances at Celtic Connections in Glasgow. RS publishes its top country/americana albums of 2016

The Sadies debut track from new album – Listen

And it’s absolutely cracking. The Sadies have premiered “It’s Easy (Like Walking)” featuring Kurt Vile from their new album with Consequence of Sound. The track is the second single to be released from Northern Passages, their 10th studio album, out February 10, 2017, on Yep Roc Records. Of the track The Sadies’ Dallas Good says, “Kurt did a tour supporting The Sadies about a thousand years ago. We didn’t really know each other before that but we’ve been friends ever since. We always talked about collaborating one day so I forced his hand by sending him this finished song with a very short deadline attached. Old Sea Brigade announces UK dates, Christmas song

Ben Cramer aka Old Sea Brigade will be touring Europe for the first time ever in February. He will be supporting Portland, Oregon based folk group Joseph on 13 dates across Europe, including 6 UK shows (Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester, Brighton, London, and Bristol). The Atlanta-born, Nashville-based singer/songwriter released his debut, self-titled EP earlier this year, featuring the standout track “Love Brought Weight,” which has passed over one million streams currently on Spotify alone. Amanda Rheaume announces Jan/Feb UK tour

amanda-rheaumeCanadian singer-songwriter Amanda Rheaume has announced January-February UK tour in support of her new album Holding Patterns, produced by Ottawa singer-songwriter Jim Bryson, which features tracks such as  ‘The Day the Mountain Fell’, a true story Amanda’s grandfather told her about a second cousin in the 1950s who became known in media reports as a “miracle child”.
