Featuring new tracks, news stories, and interviews – this week, Josh Rouse!
If you’ve been a long-time reader of the website you’ll know about our aversion to anything more complex than a valve radio (we have no idea how those moving image reels appear on the site each day, witchcraft we can only presume). So when we do try to do something new and zeitgeisty like, I don’t know, start a new podcast, you have to give us one free pass to at least royally fuck it up on a first attempt. Please then wipe your memory of two years ago and bear with us as the podcast is under new management as they say! And so with great pleasure we unveil our new weekly podcast which we firmly intend to keep around this time until at least the Book of Revelation, and maybe beyond – who knows what listening tastes the four horses of the apocalypse have.
The new podcast is hosted by AUK news editor Keith Hargreaves, and it’s a show in which we hope to be able to bring you some of the best americana music old and new, all the latest news from the website, plus in-depth interviews with artists and various movers and shakers on the americana scene. Each podcast will be a pocket-sized hour long, no more and no less, so perfect for a dog/cat/ferret walk, protest march, drive to relatives, or just putting your feet up and taking a breath whilst planning future gigs.

This week’s interview is with singer songwriter’s singer-songwriter Josh Rouse speaking from his home in Nashville. Among other things, he talks about new material and touring the UK. Look out too for some AUK subscriber extras soon in the long form of the videos of the interviews, uncut and raw – “just how we like ’em!” Keith tells us.

Just listened to AUK Podcast number one. Not only was it your first podcast but the first ever (on any topic) that I have listened to. Loved it and the hour seemed to be over in a flash. Looking forward to future posts.
