Prine was on a tour there at the time and wouldn’t return to Australia to perform until 2019. He went from playing a small pub in Sydney in 1993 to playing The State Theater (capacity 2034) in 2019.
The TV appearance is from the point in his career between his award-winning album ‘The Missing Years’ in 1991 and ‘A John Prime Christmas’ in December 1993. It was also a significant year for Prine personally, as his eventual third wife and manager Fiona Whelan moved from Ireland to Nashville to live with him that year.
