Eli Winter “Maroon” – Listen

Eli Winter is a guitarist from Chicago who is as happy on 6 or 12 strings, and will switch to lap guitars in the blink of an eye.  His new album ‘Unbecoming’ sees Winter leading a band made up of Sam Wagster (of Mute Duo) on pedal steel, Tyler Damon (of Circuit Des Yeux) on drums, and Cameron Knowler on nylon string guitar.

The music they make is instrumental, and on ‘Maroon‘ they draw dreamy mental pictures, with each guitar style complimenting the others, and that pedal steel weeping happily over all that’s going on.  Sit back, tune in, relax and enjoy.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
