A true musical journeyman, New England-based singer-songwriter Jesse Terry has made it his mission to share his love of music fully and completely, without regard for shading his emotions or tempering his convictions. His ability to create a connection, to bare his soul and express his feelings through his songs has been the defining thread in a career that has, to date, spawned five albums, numerous EPs and fostered collaborations with artists such as Dar Williams, Cary Ann Hearst of Shovels & Rope, Erin Rae and Sarah Darling.
Terry was thrilled to record this mini-gig for us from his home. Instead of his regular life on the road touring the US, the UK & Europe, together with his wife, daughter and whenever possible his dog, they are currently all at home in Connecticut, trying to figure out what lockdown means for a touring musician.
In this mini-gig, exclusively for AUK, Terry performs two tracks from his forthcoming album; ‘When we Wander’ about his life as a musical journeyman and ‘Strangers in Our Town’ conversely about being home, plus the title track from one of his most recent albums ‘Stargazer’. Each song is lyrically captivating with beautiful imagery taking you on the same journey as Terry himself.
You can see & hear more of this true artist working from home on his Facebook show ‘Live from the Lily Pad’ on Sunday evenings at 8pm. Relax in the comfort of your own home & enjoy the stories behind the songs too. These shows come straight from the nursery, courtesy of 20-month old Lily who has graciously given up a corner of her pad to enable her daddy to keep working!
The online shows are free but of course, in these torrid times, if you can give a tip via Paypal that would, of course, be massively appreciated by the Terry family. Find out more about Jesse Terry and his music anytime here.
