Something for the (long) weekend: Fountains of Wayne “Workingman’s Hands”

That’s it for this week dear reader as we take our Easter break until Tuesday, during which time we’ll be drinking frozen beer in our gardens with loved ones and wishing we were somewhere in the Med. Don’t forget to vote in our readers’ poll for the best americana album of all time. We whittled it down to the final 20 from over 230 albums you nominated, and the votes are coming in thick and fast – make sure yours counts, voter turnout is important you know! One year ago today, Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger was one of the first musicians to die of complications from COVID-19, at the crazily young age of 52. I still cannot begin to tell people how much I loved his/their music – in particular songs that no-one’s heard of like ‘Workingman’s Hands’ which is basically about the hands of a working man. Not like these mollycoddled ones. Keep safe and warm if you can – have a good one.
