EP highlights Brown’s polished vocals, while staying within the well-worn safety of a simple pop-country vein.
California based singer-songwriter Francesca Brown’s latest offering is a six-song EP, ‘Live From the Quarantine’. As the name implies the EP was recorded at her home at the start of the pandemic when uncertainty reigned. Brown, whose sweet, southern twang, and straight forward country-vibe that would sound at home at the famed Bluebird in Nashville, tackled the world in chaos and her changing life situation in song. ‘Live from Quarantine’ features brand new songs as well as the reimaging of a few tunes from her 2016 album, ‘Collide’. It was crafted remotely with all the musicians recording from the safety of their homes and piecing everything together. Despite this, the EP still features a comforting live feel, that highlights Brown’s polished vocals. Brown’s voice is strong, distinct, and carries the music aloft, but stays within the well-worn safety of a simple pop-country vein. It is delivered with a bright-sunny disposition born from her home in Los Angeles. ‘Live from Quarantine’ is an easy-going collection of songs that is perfect to remind of simpler times.
