Grammy-winning artist Grey DeLisle has put together a tribute to her hero, Cindy Walker. “It’s All Her Fault: A Tribute To Cindy Walker” is due out on 10th October 2025 via Hummin’bird Records. One of the most important and prolific women in country music history, an estimated 500 of Walker’s songs have been recorded[ and her songs made the top-40 country or pop charts more than 400 times by legends like Bob Wills, Roy Orbison, Eddy Arnold, and Willie Nelson, who devoted an entire album (“You Don’t Know Me: The Songs of Cindy Walker”) to her work. A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, she brought a rare mix of craft and emotional depth to her songwriting, helping define the golden era of country music from the 1940s onward.

DeLisle learned that Cindy’s childhood home in Mexia, Texas, had fallen into great disrepair, so she gathered up her friends and got them to record some of Cindy’s hits. All of the streaming proceeds will be donated to the Cindy Walker Foundation to help with house renovations!

To honour Walker’s legacy, DeLisle gathered an all-star cast of women in country and roots music performing some of Walker’s classics: Katie Shore, Summer Dean, Amythyst Kiah, Rosie Flores, Kelly Willis, Brennen Leigh, Melissa Carper, Mandy Barnett, Gail Davies, Jolie Holland, Ginny Mac, and more, each lending their voice to Walker’s catalogue.

To launch the album, the first single to be shared with the world is Kelly Willis’ take on ‘I Don’t Care’.
