Halley Neal “Love Is Different” – blissfully in love

Taken from the new album ‘Beautiful & Blue‘, Halley Neal’s song is a blissful evocation of a love that is total; “if I woke up tomorrow and you were gone and I didn’t know why”  she sings “I would run forever until I found a spot right by your side – I’d have no questions to be answered, am I supposed to wonder why?”  Which could sound strange – it looks strange written down – only it doesn’t, it sounds open and accepting and as if it has dropped through a wormhole in time and space from somewhere around 1970.  The Nashville based singer-songwriter certainly evokes a CSN like vibe, helped out by the guest harmony vocals of Jesse Terry and RJ Cowdery.  It’s simple, direct and at the same time as lush and fresh as an early summer’s day.

Beautiful & Blue‘ is out on September 30th, and you can read our review here.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
