Well, Hot Buttered Rum sounds like a beverage equally suitable for the Arctic explorer and the Eighteenth Century Pirate – and here we are barely a week late for International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Arrrr….that we be, just one week late….’twas the lack o’ prevailing winds that be the cause of it. Arr.

Hot Buttered Rum are actually an Americana band whose DNA is a folk-rocking spirit twisted with a helix of Bluegrass pizzazz. Today’s song is taken from their new album ‘Shine All Night‘ which was released earlier this month, their first new music since 2020. The West Coast band have been playing for twenty years, and, it says here that Hot Buttered Rum was “the brainchild of five uniquely gifted musicians“. Yeah, we noticed that too. So – the question to ponder as you enjoy the excellent ‘No Reason Why‘ is: which of the six people in the picture is not uniquely gifted? Ya’ got to feel sorry for him.
