Houndmouth “Las Vegas” – Ooooooh…..Las Vegas

Houndmouth have an upcoming release, ‘Good For You‘, their first on Dualtone Records with a release date of November 5th.  Today’s song is actually the album’s closer, a raucous rollicking rock song of having but one purpose in mind “We came here to win – We didn’t come for the entertainment.”  The tragedy is, of course, they’ve actually come here to lose: “I beg your pardon I was leaving – on account of my Lady Luck’s gone away.”  Funny how it works out that way…

‘Good for You’ is  the fourth full-length album from Houndmouth — vocalist/guitarist Matthew Myers, drummer/vocalist Shane Cody, and bassist/vocalist Zak Appleby.  It cleaves to those three simple truths – guitar, drums and bass hooked up to an honest intent of storytelling.  Oh, and big choruses and punching the air – well, why not?

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
