Sam Beam heads up the bewitching Iron & Wine, and this Summer he’ll be touring the States with the awesome I’m With Her. That’s going to be some gig. The whole tour is being given the moniker ‘Robin’s Egg‘, and as a taste of what might occur on such a tour this new song has the exact same title. And…the exact same people on it – yes, Iron & Wine and I’m With Her, all on the same piece of exquisite music.
Of the song, Beam said: “I had the start of ‘Robin’s Egg’ kicking around and began finishing the tune earlier this year with I’m With Her in mind. We had already started to plan our summer tour together; I passed it to them with the hope they were up for adding their voices to it and lucky for me they were! I’m looking forward to performing it, and a few other surprises, with them this summer.”
We’re guessing that the most recent Iron & Wine album will feature pretty heavily, why not since it’s such a good one, including a noteworthy collaboration with Fiona Apple. In fact the only downside to all this can be found in line one of this piece – it’s all in the USA alone. Phooey!
