iskwē “Night Dangers” – Listen

You’ll recall, we’re sure, that we featured iskwē back in December on a duet with Tom Wilson.  Yeah, that was a groovy tune well here’s some of iskwē’s solo music which is nothing short of gripping and dramatic. ‘Night Dangers‘ is one of a number of songs that the Canadian artist has rerecorded in a radically altered form for her new album ‘The Stars,‘ which is out March 5th.

Night Danger (Lovers Mix)‘ features Prague’s FILMHarmonic Orchestra, perhaps the largest “new band” response to Covid we’ve come across so far. As iskwē explains “When the pandemic hit here in Canada, and performances were beginning to evolve, I decided to take advantage of a long overdue dream of reimagining my album with a more classical orchestration. I love the simplicity of a chamber presentation, met by the complexities of each song’s individual complexities.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
