Renowned singer-songwriter Jolie Holland has announced a series of UK dates in the autumn of 2025. The shows mark a welcome return after her last tour here in the early Spring of 2024. Holland’s latest album, “Haunted Mountain”, was released in October 2023 and was partly co-written with Big Thief’s Buck Meek, who also appeared on the album. Several of the pair’s co-writes also featured on Meek’s album of the same name – including the title tracks(s).
Fans may find a song or two from the late Michael Hurley in the set. Holland is a long-time fan and is planning a memorial tour in the US. She wrote on Patreon: “The 2nd half of July, I will tour a show of Michael Hurley songs up the coast. We’ll have local musicians open with Hurley songs and our accompaniment if they like. The band so far is a yes with the stunner guitarist, singer and songwriter Max Knouse and a maybe with the amazing Hannah Marcus- great keys, guitarist, singer, songwriter, and violinist. I’ll play strings, sing, percussion, guitar, piano as needed.” She adds, “We’re working on a quick record to have for the tour, probably just on tape, CD & digital for now.” On 8th May 2025 she shared her version of ‘I Paint A Design’ accompanied by Knouse.
