Nashville’s Jon Byrd and Amelia White have announced their Tennessee Two-Step tour of venues around England in October 2024.  The dates, which you can find below, start in North London at Camden’s iconic Green Note on the 6th before wending their way around the country and ending up in Brighton on the 27th.

Byrd is as old-school country crooner as it gets. Born in Alabama, he has lived in Georgia and now lives in Nashville and promises to bring a honky-tonk show thousands of miles East of Tennessee. His latest album “All Your Mistakes” received excellent reviews and made several 2023 best of lists.  He can also be found most weeks at his residency at the renowned Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge with Paul Niehaus.  AUK readers may have seen them on the regular live Facebook feeds from the venue.  You can see the video for ‘(It Won’t Be Long) And I’ll Be Hating You’ below.

White who hails originally from Virginia, started out in the same New England music scene that nurtured Mary Gauthier, Lori McKenna and Aimee Mann.  Now based in Nashville, White has a string of albums to her name going back to the 1990s.  Her latest is “Love I Swore” which was released in February 2024.  The album was produced by Kim Richey and was positively received by critics.  No Depression wrote “Love I Swore” illustrates White’s lyrical ingenuity and her ability to create an emotional soundscape in which every listener can find their own struggles or heartaches or joys.”The video for the title track is linked below.
