Mercury nominee Kate Rusby starts her Christmas tour just a few weeks from now, on December 2nd. The “First Lady of Young Folkies” has produced five Christmas albums with themes that include regional carols, children’s music, and Christmas pub music, all in Rusby’s Yorkshire no-nonsense style. The tour promotes her new album ‘Hand me Down‘ which is not a Christmas album but a series of her favourite songs that included her children on backing vocals. Joining her on stage will be brass quintet The Brass Boys in addition to her usual band. Rusby describes herself as an “incurable Christmas nerd” and has become a regular part of the Winter folk scene.
