Lost Tuesday Society “Spinning” – elegant moody folk-rock

Just when you thought that electric English folk-rock had nothing left to say along come Welsh electric folk-rock band Lost Tuesday Society.  Based in Swansea they have the right mix of instruments – Jay Browning (bass) Alfie Scheinman (guitar, flute, vocals), Sarah Birch (guitar, vocals), Darran Browning (guitar, vocals) Simon Jones (drums), Kate Ronconi (violin, vocals) – and the mighty blending of four vocals to give what can only be called a full sound in the Fleetwood Mac tradition.  The band members have previously played in a range of styles and so bring with them a range of personal influences; from traditional and alternative folk, grunge and shoe-gaze, funk, psychedelia and rock.  Heady mix, as you’ll soon hear.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
