Martin Harley & Daniel Kimbro to tour the UK

The combination of slide-guitar and bass that Martin Harley and Daniel Kimbro present is musicianship of the highest quality.  The much-praised duo will be returning to the UK as part of Celtic Connections, and will then spin out an extensive tour over the subsequent weeks.  The tour follows on from their well received album Static in the Wires.

Martin Harley grew up in South East London heavily influenced by the decades of blues music synonymous with the area.Total Guitar rated him at #16 in their best acoustic guitarists in the world 2017.  From an early age Daniel Kimbro performed in Appalachian and Bluegrass bands throughout East Tennessee before studying Double Bass at the local university. He’s a member of the Grammy nominated Jerry Douglas band and recently toured with the Transatlantic Sessions.

As a duo, Martin Harley & Daniel Kimbro have a reputation for providing an always engaging, though never predictable live experience which sees them pushing at the boundaries of blues, folk and American roots music. Original compositions, harmony vocals, constant improvisation and good-humoured banter are the cornerstones of their live show.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
