Matt Bohannon “Home Alone” – I’ll stay right here

It’s no real surprise to find that Chattanooga Tennessee’s the Bohannons are headed up by brothers Marty and Matt Bohannon (that’s Matt on the right and, yeah, you’ve guessed it, Marty on the left in the above picture) and they’ve been doing so for some twenty years or more.  After the release of the band’s last album ‘Night Construction‘ in 2023 the brothers decided to try something a little different – recording and releasing solo albums.  They both have a release scheduled for February 28th, and today’s song choice comes from Matt Bohannon’s album ‘Go Back To Your Roots‘.

Home Alone‘ sees a separation as one person goes out into the greater expanse of the world whilst another stays home, venturing no further than the various bars of the area.  It’s a song with an edgy, nervy feeling.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
