Neil Young “Mr Soul” – from a new perspective

Credit: Kim Erlandsen

It’s been a few months so of course it’s time for a new Neil Young album – here’s a man that doesn’t believe in letting the grass grow under his feet.  It’s called ‘Before and After‘ and this time Neil’s been looking back to some classic – and some obscure – songs from his extensive catalogue, and then re-interpreting them solo and acoustically.  Here’s one of the songs from ‘Before and After’, going all the way back to Buffalo Springfield for a very different ‘Mr Soul‘.  We think you’ll like it.  And if not, well there’ll doubtless be another album along in a month or so.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
