P.J.M Bond “Coyote (King Of The Island)” – this land is my land

It’s been a while since we heard from Dutch singer-songwriter  P.J.M Bond, who’s Hemingway inspired debut album “In Our Time” so impressed back in early 2024 as did his earlier EPs.  In the past we’ve made comparisons to the likes of Fleet Foxes and early-era America, but on today’s single the sound leans into a more traditional country sound – with a touch of Woody Guthrie in both the lyrics and the harmonica breaks.   ‘Coyote (King Of The Island)‘ celebrates the freedom of the ramblin’ life, passing through a wilderness and experiencing what life has to offer, as Bond sings: “I’d rather die with my boots still on / caked in mud from what I’ve done.”

This new single is the first from the upcoming album of the same name, which will hit the street on April 10th on Excelsior records.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
