Sad Funeral “Kazbeg” – Listen

Lead vocalist of Brighton band Cave Painting, Adam Kane has now written and recorded some more layered introspective music under the Sad Funeral moniker.  Emerging from a visit to Kazbegi in  Georgia, ‘Kazbeg‘  is a song for a break-up that never happened.

As Kane explains “The song isn’t necessarily about a break up but more about a relationship that is lacking in areas being put under the microscope. I’ve also been writing a lot from different perspectives, one of those being my partners’ and I’ve used the writing process to examine some of my own shortcomings.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
