Something for the weekend: Reina Del Cid and Josh Turner “Morse Code”

That’s it from us for this week dear reader. The news around the world continues to be relentlessly grim this week of course and we’d encourage you to support charities delivering medical aid to Palestinians via their various emergency appeal such as this one. In brighter news, if you missed our Our Man in the Field live album playthrough last night we can tell you that the new record is sounding really special – look out for a review here soon. In the meantime, we leave you this week with a song which I adore the bones off. North Dakota born Reina Del Cid or as she is now known Elle Cordova has been around for some time now, and while her last album ‘Candy Apple Red’ has almost too many stand-out tracks to whittle down to one, it’s the song ‘Morse Code’ recorded five years back now from the album of the same name which kind of fractures my heart every time I hear it, the melody, the imagery, the works. Fellow musician Josh Turner’s guitar interlude is spine-tinglingly good too. Some soothing sounds to head into the weekend with anyway. Have a good one.
