We heard Steve Earle’s version of ‘Harlem River Blues’ last month, the first track to be released from ‘J.T.’, his upcoming tribute album to his son Justin Townes Earle, who died earlier this year. And now we’ve got another taster in the form of ‘Champagne Corolla’ which was originally the lead track to JTE’s penultimate album, 2017’s ‘Kids in the Street’. It’s a bluesy listen and very much in the style of Steve Earle’s recent output. J.T. will be released on January 4th, the day that would been Justin Townes Earle’s 39th birthday. “I made this record, like every other record I’ve ever made. . . for me,” Steve Earle said. “It was the only way I knew to say goodbye.”
