Well, this is sumptuously gorgeous – Sun Years is the side-project of Peter Morén of Peter Bjorn and John and today’s song is the lead single and title track of his soon to be released on Yep Roc album. It’s out June 16th. There are any number of guest musicians on it – Ron Sexsmith, Jess Williamson (who is singing on this song , and Kathryn Williams. The album’s closing track ‘Wake Up,’ was written during a songwriting retreat, and features Ren Harvieu. “During that trip, we sang a lot together in different groups,” explains Morén, “and it was that spirituality of singing with other people that I want to bring into this record.” Who else is on the record? Go on, guess. Did you say Eric Johnson? Course you did – shimmering rustic folk influenced rock, how could he be absent?
