Suzanne Vega “Rats” – the vermin are everywhere

Suzanne Vega has a new tour upcoming – well hooray!  It’s in the States, and a couple of dates in Germany.  Well, that’s not particularly useful for the beating heart of Vega fandom in the UK.  Oh well. She also has a new song out – it’s called ‘Rats‘ and the visualiser video is below.   It’s just possible that the crawling ever present vermin the song refers to are a metaphor.  Maybe.  Well, probably… The song itself sees Suzanne Vega in an uncompromising rocking stance, somewhat atypical but nonetheless excellent.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
