Tammy Rogers & Thomm Jutz “I Surely Will Be Singing” – music is a balm

As long as I am breathing I surely will be singing” sing Tammy Rogers and Thomm Jutz on this lovely bluegrass tune with an Old Timey feel to it provided by the blended harmony of their vocals and the simplicity of the message.  Sometimes things don’t need to be overly complicated – and ‘I Surely Will Be Singing‘ just celebrates the uplifting power of music.  We can certainly dig that.

That song talks about playing music not just because it’s a career,” Jutz has explained. “It talks about singing and playing and creating because you were created to do that. It’s a really simple song, too, musically and lyrically. We’re so influenced by old music that simplicity is something we’re always looking for.”

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
