It’s fair to say we don’t often cover Randy Travis on AUK but we make an exception when it comes to fellow North Carolinians the Avett Brothers whose 2012 taping of CMT Crossroads is considered by RS Country as “one of the best, most seamless Crossroads, a testament to the musicianship of the Avetts and the singing prowess of Travis, who no longer performs after suffering a stroke in 2013.” The Avetts gave a nod to that during a concert they played last week in Mississippi when they performed Travis’s number one single ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’ which also happens to be the title of his autobiography, due out next month.
