The Cactus Blossoms – Minneapolis-based brother duo Jack Torrey and Page Burkum – have announced their new album “Every Time I Think About You”, set for release on 30th August 2024 via their own Walkie Talkie Records. The collection of ten new songs finds the brothers – along with long-time bandmates Jeremy Hanson (drums), Jacob Hanson (guitar) and Phillip Hicks (bass) – switch between freewheeling rockers and gentle pop ballads, avoiding pigeonholing while maintaining a relaxed looseness to their sound. The record was recorded at Minneapolis’ legendary Creation Audio with engineer/mixer Alex Hall.  “Even if you don’t set out to write songs with a theme in mind, one tends to present itself,” says Torrey. “This record keeps returning to the idea of ‘moving on’ — from one place to another, from people and situations that bring you down, from loss and grief.” It follows the release of 2022’s “One Day” of which AUK’s Cam Fraser wrote: “These brothers can really sing, and write and play high-quality, classic, lonesome-country songs” and last year’s Bob Dylan covers EP.

You can pre-save and/or pre-order the album here. In the meantime, The Cactus Blossoms have released two singles: the chooglin’ heartbreak anthem ‘There She Goes’, which you can listen to below, and the album’s deceptively gentle title track ‘Every Time I Think About You’ which you can find here.
