The Ghibertins “In Your Arms” – ascolta!

Americana influences certainly spread far, the most obvious touchstones for The Ghibertins are bands like Fleet Foxes.  Unlike Pecknold’s merry men though, The Ghibertins are a Milan based quintet and ‘In Your Arms’ is taken from their upcoming folk-pop concept album.  Lead singer Alessio Hofmann explained about the song’s significance “‘In Your Arms’ is about our concept album’s protagonist living through his sixties. Diametrically opposed to our previous single ‘20149-Milano’, this song wants to delicately transpose the serenity you feel in feeling loved and fulfilled regardless of all past mistakes. It is a warm, reassuring song just like a hug – hence the title. Writing this song is one that we remember with huge feelings of pride and affection.”

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
