The Twang Factor 2 presents: Jess Jocoy

In Week 3 we present Jess Jocoy, a singer-songwriter originally from near Seattle but now residing in Nashville.

Having made the move from her Pacific North-West home to Nashville, Jess Jocoy released her debut album ‘Such a Long Way’ in 2020. It attracted very favourable reviews from No Depression and American Songwriter before the pandemic ended her live work and stalled her career. She now returns with a new EP ‘Brighter Eyes’ from which the song Jess is performing for AUK comes. The song is called ‘Constellations’ and the video was recorded and edited by Jess herself. With a voice as evocative as her songwriting, here at AUK we think you’re going to love her.

You can investigate Jess and her music more by visiting her website or social media: Facebook Twitter and Instagram. You can also access her music on Soundcloud and Spotify

Like to enter The Twang Factor yourself? or know someone else that might? Here’s how to get involved:

Send us a link to you performing an original song. Our email address is thetwangfactor@americana-uk.com We will then view it and if you stand out from the crowd, we will be in touch. Chosen artists will then be invited to make an exclusive recording, like the one above, for AUK which will appear on the site in one of our weekly slots.

A few things to note:

  • This is aimed at new and/or relatively unknown artists.
  • Despite the name, the feature is open to artists working in the broad americana/folk range – you know the kind of stuff we dig.
  • Your material must be original – no covers please.

Good luck. We look forward to hearing from you – and tell your friends!

My idea of a perfect day would be a new record arriving in the post in the morning, watching Ipswich Town win in the afternoon followed by a gig and a pint with my mates at night,
