What can we tell you about Joy Zimmerman? Well, Joy Zimmerman is a former social worker and a current touring folk & acoustic roots singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. When she isn’t touring she can be found at home with her wife (and a lot of plants). Home is in the Kansas City area. Joy Zimmerman has a new album out on the 4th of August called ‘Where the Light Lives‘ from which today’s Bruce Springsteen cover is taken. It’s a song that she felt should be made available early, and in particular in Pride month.
Joy Zimmerman told Americana UK that: “I recorded this compelling version of ‘If I Should Fall Behind’ by Bruce Springsteen to celebrate LGBTQ love and all love. The heart of this song is its beautiful simplicity — the promise of steadfast love no matter what the road brings. To reflect that same deep promise my wife and I share, I invited Katie Dahl to sing ‘If I Should Fall Behind’ with me as a duet. Katie and I recorded our parts three states away, but our voices blend in this tribute to devotion and love.”

The Big Potato reissue of Tucker Zimmerman’s ‘Over Here In Europe’ represents the first time it has been reissued on vinyl (it was originally released on French label Spalax in 1974) and its first-ever appearance on…

Joyful confident album that shows you are never too late to make a start. The backstory to this album is interesting. Jackdaw and ‘Ghost in the Big House’ is a collaboration based around the songs of Rob Anderson and born in the backroom of a north London pub. It is…
Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
Joy’s extraordinary voice, along with Katie Dahl’s harmonies, bring sweet tears to my eyes. The string accompaniment adds depth and beauty to this enchanting song.

Love it!
Beautiful blending of 2 voices!
