Track Premiere: Lockwood Barr “Adderall & Alcohol”

Lockwood Barr can claim to have music in her genes – her mother performed with John Hartford and with The Dillards, whilst her dad taught her to play the banjo.  And it’s his 1972 Gibson that she plays on stage.  It’s a place she tells us that she loves to be: “There is a fire in my belly that drives me to perform, I want my listeners to feel what I’m feeling. Connecting with audiences is my favourite part about being an artist.

Of course that’s not been so easy to achieve in recent months, which could explain the Tiburon, California native’s thoughts on self-medication as described on today’s premiere ‘Adderall & Alcohol‘.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
