A key event each year in the UK’s americana calendar, the next UK Americana Awards will be held on the 30th Jan 2020 as part of AmericanaFest UK 2020.There are 7 member nominated and voted for awards – Nominations are now open, and all members can now choose up to 3 in each of the 7 categories, with the eligibility period covering 1st oct 2018-30th Sept 2019. Nominations close on October 15th so basically get your skates on. There’s a helpful guide on the website if you need a refresher in terms of releases over the last year, or of course you can peruse our content from the last 12 months if you have a spare three days blocked out.

The 2020 conference will be held at Hackney Picture House and Hackney Empire buildings, with showcases at Oslo, Moth Club, Paper Dress Vintage and Empire Bar. The awards will be held at The Troxy,  a short train or ride away.  Early bird tickets are also on sale now and those early bird Delegate passes which include the 3 Day Conference, 2 nights of showcases and the awards show  include a saving of about £100 which you could either donate to charity or buy four and a half bottles of Jack Daniels, the choice is yours! Separate showcase festival wristbands will be on sale soon and awards tickets too. Keep an eye on their site and of course here at AUK where we will keep you up to date with all AMAUK goings on. In the meantime, here’s the amazing Yola performing ‘Faraway Look‘ at the 2019 awards.
